Telling my story

A few weeks back, I had the privilege of delivering the 'sermon' at our church - Falkirk Vineyard. It's a year since we moved and I can't remember before then the last time I spoke in this way. So it really was a privilege to share in this new setting that we've found ourselves in. Normally I'd be glad of the opportunity. But this time, I was specifically asked to share my story as part of a few weeks of various people doing this. Give me the most confusing bit of Old Testament scripture to speak on if you wish - I'd be comfortable with that! But speaking about me is a whole different ball game. I had the dilemma of what to share and what not to share whilst also keeping within time! And those who know me know I like to talk!

Uncomfortably for me, I felt led by God to share quite candidly about some chapters in my life and was really nervous about doing so. Many of you reading this won't even know about some of the darker times in my life and this was certainly true for everyone I was speaking to in church. You'll have to listen if you're intrigued!

I duly followed the leading to speak in this way and, a few weeks on, I still feel truly humbled by the response from our new friends. They were so loving and gracious to Carol-Anne and myself. They all recognise very clearly that the past is the past and that we all live today by the grace of God.

So if you're vaguely interested in hearing my story together with a few deep thoughts and insights along the way, then click the image below to go to the podcast section of our church website. And even if you don't fancy listening to me (and I can understand fully!) then do have a look around some of the other stories, Bible teaching and visioning available in the other podcasts there. It's worth it!
