About

A misquoted song title says - "What a difference a Dan makes". Well okay, that's maybe taking things a bit too far but my wife, Carol-Anne, and I had our first dance to the properly titled version of the song (What a Difference a Day makes), so it's a song that has a strong resonance with me. I also saw the misquote on a t-shirt and obviously saw the funny side of things. But in reality, I do want to make a difference in my life and of course, I want that to be a positive difference. Whether that is with my family, friends, or the work I am blessed to be involved in, I want to know that my efforts have made a difference for the better. And that is the driver behind Community Dan as a brand, and as the foundation for all I do.
I'm Dan Rous, husband to Carol-Anne since September 2004 and dad to River (July 2005), Hannah (February 2008) and Isla (April 2015). Together, we live and work in the Camelon area of Falkirk in Central Scotland with our crazy Cocker Spaniel, Scout, who joined us in July 2021. Since I moved to Scotland in December 2002, I have been involved in Community and Social Enterprises across various Scottish Communities, many of which were in faith based settings, and all included working in, developing, managing, setting up, and supporting a range of activities.
Most of the work I've done has had a faith element to it, but not all. However, as a Christian, brought up in The Salvation Army and now serving within the Vineyard Church, my faith underpins everything I do. What that boils down to, is that I want my work to enable people and communities to be what they were made to be. I want to walk alongside people and communities, helping them to develop their skills, self-belief, passions and more, so that their lives, and those of the people they also walk alongside, will be better as a result.
So now that I am working freelance, I can support even more projects in a variety of ways. Head on over to my Services page to find out more.
I also provide various Ministry support and resources, including being available to lead and/or speak at your Church service or Community event. And if that isn't enough, I also get involved in Broadcast Ministry and enjoy being able to spread the Word of God further in this way.
And to help us all, I've also included a Daily Devotional on this site, courtesy of TodayDevotional.com
So again, please get in touch for a chat. I look forward to hearing from you.
